Key Responsibilities:

The Ministry also coordinates activities and initiatives among various stakeholders, including government agencies, local authorities, and private sector partners.
  • Sustainable Land Management: Promotes practices that ensure the sustainable use and management of land resources, addressing issues such as land tenure security, land use planning, and environmental conservation.
  • Housing Promotion: Aims to provide sustainable housing solutions for all, focusing on improving housing conditions, reducing housing deficits, and enhancing access to affordable housing.
  • Urban Development: Fosters orderly and planned urban growth, supporting infrastructure development, service delivery, and the creation of livable and resilient urban environment

Provision Of Consultancy Services to Undertake Environmental and Social Audit For USMID-AF Ongoing Municipal Investment Projects in Arua, Jinja and Moroto 

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Audit Planning and Coordination: Developed a comprehensive audit plan in collaboration with USMID-AF project managers and local authorities.
    • Field Assessments: Carried out detailed site visits and inspections in Arua, Jinja, and Moroto to evaluate the environmental and social performance of the municipal projects.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaged with local communities, project beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on the projects’ impacts.
    • Compliance Review: Reviewed project documentation, including Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), monitoring reports, and compliance records.
    • Impact Analysis: Conducted qualitative and quantitative assessments of the environmental and social impacts, identifying areas of non-compliance and potential improvements.
    • Reporting: Prepared detailed audit reports outlining findings, non-compliance issues, and prioritized recommendations for enhancing environmental and social performance.
    • Capacity Building: Provided training and capacity-building sessions for municipal staff and project teams on best practices in environmental and social management.
